So, confession: I don’t shop. Not only do I not really hand over money for things, but I don’t window shop physically or online. I can’t afford it. Mostly. The other part of this is even when I can afford things I have mini panic attacks over not actually being able to afford. I’m torn between wishing this would eventually go away and hoping it never leaves. I feel a special sort of desperate this week. Does anybody else feel like they BLEED money before, during, and after travel? Why does this happen? I feel like I spend more money than I should on a regular basis, but I don’t feel like I’m gushing out of my femoral artery the way I do around trips.
All of that to say, there are some things I’m wishing for when I stop feeling like my financial lifeblood is pouring out of me. But also to say, I had to actually look for a couple of these because I couldn’t actually think of anything I wanted because hello, I don’t tempt myself with the idea of shopping when I know I can’t afford it.
one • new tires
This is very unglamorous but mostly I feel like not spinning out and dying this winter, so this is why this is here. Also because I can’t afford new tires. (Obviously I have to figure out how to afford them. But it’s not going to be easy given I also have to afford things like eating.)
two • teal cardigan from loft
Can we just talk about this cardigan for a minute? I LOVE teal. Teal ALL THE THINGS. Especially this sweater. I LOVE sweaters. LOFT was 20% off sweaters last week, so naturally I found out about it the last day it was available and then I was all responsibly adulting like, “I am trying to pay off this credit card” instead of being normal and all, “ALL THE SWEATERS ALL THE LOFT ALL THE TWENTY PERCENT.” Mhm. That. This is why adulting is the worst, except when it’s the best.
three • olive sweater from loft
Basically, I really like to be warm, which is why the second of two clothing items here is also a sweater. Also, I really love sweaters. Also, I love the color olive.
Drapey sweaters are the best kinds of sweater because you can pull the extra fabric around the front to wrap yourself like you would inside a blanket. Have I mentioned I love to be warm? I feel like living in the Mitten we so rarely get to be warm.
What are you wishing for lately?
