Annie’s take: Margo gives fantastic travel advice, and this post is no exception. I’ve visited many of the places on her list finding souvenirs to bring home not only in Europe, but also the rest of the world. Another place I’d add: airports sometimes carry unique merchandise you won’t find other places. I bought the majority of my souvenirs on my trip to Kenya and Amsterdam in the airports!

This, then, is an essay about…beating my husband at March Madness and recording weekly podcasts and visiting long-distance friends and trying to fit in in a small town. Life right now looks like pollen all over my front porch and an incessant buzzer on a dryer full of clean clothes I don’t want to fold.
“Abide” by Tali
The funny (sometimes frustrating) thing about being a work in progress is that it’s sometimes difficult to see any actual progress. Unless we look for it. Name it. Mark it. Celebrate it.
“Jesus and the Little Things” by Rachel
There isn’t a quick fix for days like this. There isn’t a button to push to make moods like these vanish and the sunshine and joy return again.

“Running” by Becca
…I threw down my book and I ran. I joined Darryl and two other boys from my class, and I ran so fast that the wind hit my face and my lungs started burning, and I felt like I was going to topple over when I stretched out my arms in front of me to tag one of the boys before I took off running in the opposite direction again.
I was fast, and I was free.
