i tried to think of a good april fool’s joke to play on y’all but i came up short.
well i came up with pretending my blog was down but i couldn’t set it up in like two minutes and i decided it wasn’t so funny that i would try to figure it out. so there’s that.
the first thing is that my sister is engaged! i guess the april fool’s here is that liz isn’t my sister biologically or legally. my brother and i call her our unofficially adopted older sister and my parents also consider her family. and she’s engaged! shoot. i’m not old enough for this.
|this is liz’s ring. future husband, take note.|
the second thing is that i got a full-time job! (hooray!) i got a promotion at work and started yesterday. i never thought i would turn retail from a temporary thing to a full-time, career thing but i have and i love it.
did anyone watch the bible series finale on sunday? i understand they had to tone things down for television but Jesus would have looked so much worse after that whipping. (the romans perfected torture if they accomplished nothing else.) and then, for the love, Jesus was nailed to the cross through His wrists, not through His hands. (again, romans & torture. although nailing was reserved for only the very worst of criminals. most were just tied to the cross.)
all i really want is for the history channel to start doing basic research. i remember watching a show on the silk roads where they said the romans traveled to china. dear everyone, no roman ever made it to china because parthia. sincerely, annie.
all that to say, i really liked the series and loved how it brought these stories to life. even if every other minute i’m raging about historical and biblical inaccuracies.
now that i’m done analyzing yet another show on the history channel, i’m channeling most of my analytic neurons to the class i’m teaching on grammar and writing mechanics for the influence network on april 25. i’m so stoked for this class! you can reserve your spot here for $10, which covers the cost of attending the class and getting the class materials in an email after the class is over. so if you’re unable to attend but don’t want to miss out, still be sure to sign up! you’ll be able to listen to the class recording and go through the powerpoint at your leisure.
the class will focus on grammar rules and the basics mechanics of writing. i’ll bust a few myths and talk about setting up a foundation for finding your voice, based on all of that previous stuff. i’m excited. grammar makes my heart soar.
other than that i’ve been reading like a fiend all weekend and eating pita bread like it’s going out of style.
because i don’t know about you, but the bible made me crave pita bread after the apostles took communion twice in like ten minutes.
somehow i don’t think that was quite what Jesus was after when He began that particular sacrament.
taste and see the Lord is good, right?
