Last night we went to the cider mill. We bought donuts, cider, caramel apples, and apple pie bread. We sat in front of the mill stream on stumps to eat the donuts and caramel apples and drink the cider.
After that, we came back to C’s and my apartment, where C had made white chicken chili in the crock pot and K made cornbread. We ate and talked, wrapped up in blankets, till almost midnight.
K stayed overnight with us and we ate the apple pie bread this morning for breakfast. It was a good, slow start to the day before we all ran off to church.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know last week I posted about how church and community have been a fight for me. I’ve known each of these women for varying lengths of time, but as that time has passed, our friendships have grown stronger. It’s a start to the community I’ve long craved, and I’m grateful for it.
