so here’s the skinny on spain:
we’re going to madrid from july 5-15 to teach esl & basketball.
here’s the not-so-skinny:
some of the things, like some misconceptions on missions in spain, are the same as they were last year. some are not (like the above skinny). some are similar.
our current prayer requests for this trip are:
• that the missionaries in spain would be able to find a location to hold the basketball camp. (we are only one of three teams going to madrid this summer to work with the muhas, so please pray for a location that’s amenable to doing this not once but thrice.)
• team unity. there are twelve of us going this year. as in anything: the more people you have, the harder it is to cultivate a sense of cohesion and oneness. we know that with the Spirit, unity among our team is possible. please pray we would also be intentional about fighting for this unity, particularly when the enemy seeks to be especially divisive.
• preparation through these next two and a half months. not all of our team has previous overseas mission experience and only one of us (me) has taken this mission trip to spain before. please pray we would be especially equipped by the Spirit to speak into the lives of the people whom we will teach and with whom we’ll work while we’re there, and that we would spend the time we have before that preparing wisely.
• support. a full quarter of our funds are due april 28. please pray we would be able to raise the necessary monies in order to pay for this trip. the trip costs $2000. please also pray how God would lead you to support me as i go again to madrid, either in prayer or in money or both. the enemy is fearsome and he is fearless, and those of you who remember the journey to spain from last year will know this is a trip he has not failed to relentlessly attack. please pray we will be ready and able, unhindered by the enemy’s effort, to take the stones God hands us for use in building His kingdom.

i’m not sure if i’ll be blogging my trip to spain while i’m there, as i did last year, but rest assured i will be keeping you updated prior to and immediately after the trip. (i’m also hoping to document while we’re there via instagram, but this is pending wireless availability &/or international phone coverage.)
