Here’s what the past few days have looked like: watching Canadian coverage of an event in the afternoon, then watching American coverage of the same events in primetime.
This what happens when weekend meets a half day on Monday and no work on Tuesday.
That changes today, since I work full days Wednesday through Friday. But the four days of watching Olympics virtually nonstop were a beautiful time and I will cherish their memory dearly.
I’ve also been reading, a thing I was loath to do after reading Dear Mr. Knightley. It’s a fantastic book and you should read it. I say this even though it touched a sore nerve. For those of you who saw my tweet about forcefully quitting the Kindle app being the digital equivalent of throwing a book across the room, this was that book.
It was so good. So, so good. The nerve it touched is a personal issue and has no bearing on how much I love this story.
I wanted to contemplate this book thoroughly but the unfortunate existence of library due dates and fines intervened and I started reading again yesterday while the US played Finland in curling on NBC Sports.
And all I really have to say about that is can anyone explain curling to me?
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
What’ve y’all been up to this weekend and early part of the week? What’s been your favorite Olympic event?
And who else is training with me to ice skate at Pyeongchang in 2018?
For real, y’all.
