They say pictures are worth a thousand words,
but I can’t draw to save my life.
That’s why I write:
to express myself,
because pictures fail me–at least, my own do.
Besides, I like words better:
to play with them,
to discover the language from which each word comes,
to spell them,
to play with
because I can.
I like writing, too, not just words.
I write because it’s what I do best.
And I like those fancy terms:
and my favorite,
I like long words, too:
I really like words
So if a picture’s worth a thousand words,
I think I’ll write those thousand words,
and you can draw the picture for me.
