I learned whatever fashion sense I have managed to cobble together in 24 years from Forever 21.
I imagine those two words, Forever 21, conjure up a myriad of emotions in you. Most of what I’ve heard over the years amounts to, “That store is so messy” or “That store is really hard to shop in.”
I know, friend. I know because I’ve been there. For a long time. As in, long enough to obtain an employee number and spend just under a year learning the store inside and out. I can still figure out where things belong just by looking around the store and I haven’t worked there for over two years.
I never would have dared to blog about fashion before that, but while I worked at F21, I posted near-daily OOTD photos on Instagram. And while that season is long gone, I still enjoy putting outfits together, so while What She Saw will never be a fashion blog, let’s pretend it is, at least for today.
I believe every good outfit involves jeans and a v-neck. Do y’all know how easy this is to dress up or down?!
Two of my other staples are nude flats and my military jacket. I didn’t realize when I bought the jacket how much use I would get out of it, but I pretty much want to wear it everywhere.
But highest and most numerous among my wardrobe, and part of my fifteen seconds of fame in the blogging world, are my scarves. I have a lot of them and I wear them often.
I will wear scarves in any and all weather. It all has to do with how the rest of the outfit is structured and how heavy the scarf is.
The best part of scarves is they go with everything. Like v-necks. And jeans. And nude flats.
And even the military jacket. If it’s burgundy.
Jury’s out pairing them with the denim vest, though. Maybe that’s how I can repurpose that vest…
