In fact, it is a good thing when free time doesn’t mean Facebook time. This means work actually gets done.
Take for instance my bedroom. It has looked like the pits almost since I initially moved in. When my dad dropped me off at school yesterday and walked in, he said, “Well, this looks lived in.” When I tell you that’s a euphemism like one you’ve never seen before, believe me. It looked terrible.
So this morning my roommate Kelsey said she was going on a “Facebook fast,” and I said, “I need to do that; I’ll do it with you.” So far, so good. So good, in fact, that when I came back from class this afternoon, I thought about what I should do, because I couldn’t go on Facebook anymore. And then it hit me: I’ll clean my room. As though it was some miraculous thought from heaven.
And imagine this: I actually have a floor. Yup. Believe it or not. And it extends all throughout the room. I am amazed. I did not for the life of me know floors actually extended to the walls that rose above them!
Gosh, what we learn in college!
I am on a break from cleaning my room right now but it looks significantly different, which I cannot even stress enough to you is an extremely good thing. I’m excited about a spotless room. Well, maybe not spotless. But fairly neat. I think I’m going to make spotless my official goal though (as y’all are my witnesses). I’ll let you know how it goes. :]
