I have a confession to make: I don’t actually have a guest post for you today.
Today’s Blogtember prompt was to solicit a guest post, and I had every intention of doing it except ALL THE THINGS happened last week, and here we are, with no guest post.
Here’s an introductory snippet:
I listened to Brian Koppelman interview Seth Godin on his podcast, The Moment, recently. I couldn’t stop mulling over his words about reassurance.
He said that when we seek reassurance, we’re looking for someone to relieve the tension. It stems from that deep human longing to know that we’re okay, that we’re loved. The problem with seeking reassurance, Godin says, is that our need for it is infinite. We can never be satiated in our unrelenting hunger for reassurance. Tension is uncomfortable. Tension exposes us. Tension is a hotbed of growth. Tension forces us out of hiding and into the light.
