as of today, i have 10% of my influence budget saved. hurrah!
today i’m going to break down last year’s budget (it’s a little skewed, because i threw a side trip to chicago in there) and share my projected budget for this year. but before i do that, i want to share with you what categories you absolutely want to include for your influence budget, why, and what those categories should include.
transportation: if you’re driving, this includes gas and parking. if you’re flying, this is your airplane ticket plus the cost of a shuttle and/or chipping in some gas to whoever picks you up (because the airport is across town).
food: this must include dinner thursday, friday, and saturday. depending on when you’re traveling, include meals from the minute you leave your house to the minute you arrive.
hotel: for at least three nights. pay the conference rate and find three roommates (using the influence fora or the #influencenet hashtag on twitter or instagram) to pay the cheapest price.
starbucks: there’s one INSIDE THE HOTEL. you have chelsea to thank that this is a whole separate category from food.
roommate gifts: do you have to? no, but they’re nice, and they don’t have to be pricey. in fact, they shouldn’t be.
the sashes market: i PROMISE you will regret not budgeting for this when you arrive. ask me: 1. how i know & 2. where my budget explodes EVERY. YEAR.
|i apologize for how small this is! ppt getting all up in my space & tryna make me do things their way. RUDE.|
next week we’ll discuss how to carry your money once you leave and how to break down your cash to make the most of every penny. (alternatively titled: how to annoy the everything out of your friendly bank teller. ask me how i know this is true.)
